To accommodate pedestrians crossing the detour route for the East Starr Avenue widening project, the intersections of Bailey and Mound Streets and Bailey and Raguet Streets have been converted to all-way stops.

A stop sign will soon be installed on Guy Street at Timberlake Street, due to the low visibility at the intersection caused by the non-traditional configuration of the streets.

Motorists are encouraged to be aware of the new stop signs.  Police officers will be working these areas to raise awareness and visibility and to gain compliance.  “Please usecaution for other motorists who are not yet accustomed to the new signs.  Observe the signs by coming to a complete stop before proceeding in a safe manner,” said Nacogdoches Police Department’s Sgt. Greg Sowell.
