Railroad Crossing Scheduled for Work Closure

Date:

LUFKIN – An Angelina County railroad crossing is scheduled to be replaced on Monday, May 22, and will require a roadway closure.

Angelina & Neches River Railroad will replace the railroad crossing on FM 842, weather permitting. TxDOT crews are scheduled to close the roadway at the crossing beginning at 8 am. Work is scheduled to be completed by 5 pm.

Motorists should be prepared to detour at Old Moffett Road throughout the day. Access to local businesses near East Park Avenue on the south side of the railroad crossing will remain open.

M&M Sales and Service, Timpson TX, will serve as contractor for the work. Motorists are urged to stay alert to lighted message boards already in place announcing the closure. Be prepared to detour and reduce speed near the work zone.
