Brussels Sprouts with Maple Syrup

2 tablespoons olive oil, plus one teaspoon
1 pound Brussels sprouts, trimmed, halved lengthwise
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
1/8 cup pure maple syrup
1 tablespoon unsalted butter, room temperature
2 tablespoons dried cilantro leaves or dried parsley
½ teaspoon onion powder with chives
1 teaspoon ground sage

Heat 2 tablespoons olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook Brussels sprouts, cut side down, in a single layer in skillet until deep golden brown, about 5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper. Toss. Cook about 5 additional minutes or until tender. Transfer to a bowl. Remove skillet from heat. Add maple syrup, butter, and seasonings to pan. Once butter has melted, add Brussels sprouts to skillet and toss to coat. Transfer Brussels sprouts mixture to a serving platter and drizzle with remaining teaspoon of oil.
