ALERT: Northbound main lanes of US 59/SL 287 beneath the Chestnut Street/FM 58 overpass in Lufkin are closed due to a bridge strike. Traffic is being diverted to the exit ramp at FM 58 and will enter back onto SL 287 north of FM 58. Law enforcement is assisting with detours. TxDOT is scheduling a bridge inspection. Motorists should reduce speed and stay alert through the area.
