DETCOG Conducting Survey of Regional Transit Needs

Date:

The Deep East Texas Council of Governments (DETCOG) is in the process of preparing a 5-Year Transit Plan for its 11-County Region. A survey has been posted online so that people in the region can comment on transit providers and needs.

“The survey gives us an opportunity to gather updated information on transportation providers and unserved transportation needs in the region,” said DETCOG Regional Planner Bob Bashaw. “Some of our counties do not have any public transit. In some of our counties you can call and schedule a ride a couple of days in advance. Some of our cities have fixed bus routes,”

A link to the survey can be found on the DETCOG web site at DETCOG.gov. The survey can be directly found at: https://l13ff80kcxa.typeform.com/to/qObkjHUR

“It is especially important that we get information on changes in available transportation and public transit needs because of all the changes brought on by the Covid-19 Pandemic,” concluded Bashaw.

Questions and comments can also be emailed to: info@detcog.gov
