The Deep East Texas Council of Governments Board of Directors has recognized Saturday, Feb. 11, 2017 as 2-1-1 day in Deep East Texas.
The resolution reads in part: “Pick up your phone and dial 2-1-1, and you get free, accurate, well-organized and easy-to-find information about non-profit local and state health and human services programs.”
The Call Specialist answering 2-1-1 calls in Deep East Texas handled 32,486 inquiries in 2016.
