Charlie Thomas Invitational and Multi’s Weekend Wrap-up

Date:

The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks competed at the Charlie Thomas Invitational and Multi’s this weekend, notching several Top-10 finishes, personal bests and season bests throughout the two days. Erica Ellis finished first overall in Pole Vault, as she No. 6 in NCAA Division I (4.41m, 14-5½).

“We started off the weekend with a bang on Friday,” said Head Coach Phil Olson. “Gabe Gilfillan and Hunter Krc were outstanding in the pole vault, the multi-eventers either hit PR’s or season bests, and the DMR’s were very impressive. On Saturday, it took us awhile to get going, but we saw some high level performances throughout the day. From a team standpoint, we need to heal up, have razor-sharp focus and utilize good weather this week in order to reach championship form in two weeks.”
