LUFKIN, TEXAS, Feb. 15, 2018 – Angelina College’s theatre department will present “Bob: A Life in Five Acts” by Peter Sinn Nachtrieb March 1, 2 and 3 in Temple Theater. All performances are at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $6 for adults and $5 for seniors, students and children. AC students are admitted free with their college ID.
“Bob: A Life in Five Acts” chronicles the highly unusual life of Bob and his lifelong quest to become a great man. Born and abandoned in the bathroom of a fast food restaurant, Bob energetically embarks on an epic journey across America. Parental guidance is suggested for this production.
Director Andrew Reed says audiences will enjoy “Bob” because they will find it extremely relatable. “I chose this play because it’s fun and deals with what a lot of people have gone through and are going through in life. It’s about trying to find your purpose and place in life. It also ask big questions like are we living up to our full potential in life and are we doing what we thought we would be doing,” Reed said.
The cast designed the costumes and choreographed the dance sequences.
Eric Manis of Nacogdoches does double duty, playing the title role of Bob and serving as the assistant director.
Shelby Brown ( Diboll), William Carnes (Huntington), Sara Fowler of (Diboll), Derra Gossett (Hudson), Jamie Jackson (Lufkin), Nicholos Trusclair (Lufkin) and Leandra Willis (Lufkin) make up the Chorus.
Taz Powers, AC operations technician, and Tyler Arnold, AC scene shop assistant designed the lighting; Cody Carter (Lufkin) is the sound designer; Riley Elledge (Huntington) is the prop designer, Tanya Head (Lufkin) is the PowerPoint designer, Meredith Taylor is the AC production designer/technical manager, and Anna Flowers (Diboll), Tanya Head, Cody Carter (Lufkin) and Riley Elledge are the running crew.
