AC Soccer Teams To Host Weekend Doubleheaders

Date:

Both Angelina College soccer teams enter the weekend still looking for some program firsts. To get them, they’ll need to handle some experience conference foes.

The Lady Roadrunners, having won two straight games, still seek their first win in conference play. After dropping their first three contests, AC’s ladies have put together a two-game winning streak – including last week’s overtime win at Eastfield, a game in which Kennedy Sessions scored both goals in a 2-1 win, including the winner 30 seconds into extra time.

On Friday, the Lady ‘Runners will attempt to earn their first conference win when they host Paris College on Friday and Northeast Texas Community College on Saturday. Both games kick off at 5:30 p.m.

The Roadrunners (0-2) are looking to notch their program’s first-ever win. They dropped their conference opener at San Jacinto College last week by a 5-0 score. The bright side of that game was that after giving up four goals in the first half, AC adjusted to hold the Coyotes to a single score in the second.

The ‘Runners take on Paris College Friday and NTCC on Saturday, with both games scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

All games will take place at Jase Magers Field at Lufkin High School. For updates, follow ACAthletics on Twitter.
