WORK SCHEDULED FOR LUFKIN’S EAST LOOP-Exit ramps to be rehabilitated

LUFKIN – Work is scheduled to begin tomorrow on Lufkin’s SL 287 East and will continue into next week as weather allows.
The rehabilitation of northbound entry/exit ramps will be done by Moore Brothers Construction, Lufkin, and will consists of mill and inlay operations. There will be temporary lane closures during working operations at various locations.

The mill and inlay operation is designed to rehabilitate the entry/exits on the east side of SL 287 with northbound work expected to be completed in about a week. Work is scheduled at the FM 58 exit, the US 69 South exit and the FM 841 exit.

Work on southbound locations will be scheduled when northbound locations are completed. Those will include the FM 325 exit, FM 841 exit, FM 58 exit, FM 58 to Tulane frontage and the US 59 and BU 59 intersection.

Motorists are urged to reduce speed in the work areas and prepare for delays during peak travel hours. Expect lane closures and remain alert to workers and moving equipment. Traffic fines double when workers are present.
