US 59 SOUTHBOUND FLYOVER SCHEDULED FOR NIGHT WORK

Date:

Work is scheduled to begin Wednesday on a busy roadway and a bridge/flyover in Lufkin that will require closures.

The US 59 Southbound overpass/flyover is scheduled to be closed on Wednesday and Thursday nights so that crews can perform preventative maintenance.

The bridge maintenance is planned from 9 pm to 6 am on Wednesday and Thursday and includes joint sealing on the flyover bridge that will require the closure during work hours. Work is expected to be completed by Friday morning.

Work will also begin Wednesday morning on Business 69 South/Chestnut Drive between Denman Avenue and Timberland Drive. Crews will begin a mill and inlay project that will require alternate lane closures. The project will include mill and inlay work also on SH 103 West at SL 287 and on US 69 at SL 287. Work is expected to be completed within two weeks, weather permitting.

Motorists should reduce speed and obey all signage through these work zones. Stay alert for workers, moving equipment and detours that will be in place throughout the work areas.
