Main “Sweet” Treats and Beats

Date:

NACOGDOCHES, TX – The City of Nacogdoches Main Street department will be hosting a new event in downtown Nacogdoches known as Main “Sweet” Treats and Beats. This event will be held from 11 AM to 3 PM on August 12, 2017.
The Main “Sweet” Treats and Beats event will showcase a wide range of various desserts and sweet treats for visitors to taste and judge. These treats will be made by the merchants at participating stores. After visitors sample the treats, they can cast their votes in any of the ballot boxes found at participating shops.
This downtown event will also coincide with tax free weekend, encouraging visitors to shop for new clothing and household items while they enjoy the homemade treats from downtown merchants. Downtown restaurants will be serving up lunch specials during the event to offer a break from sweet treats for the visitors.
“We at City of Nacogdoches Main Street are so excited about this fun new event! We hope that visitors and locals alike will come to historic Downtown Nacogdoches and enjoy lunch specials at our great restaurants and then stay to try delicious desserts while they shop with our wonderful merchants. This weekend will be full of fun with graduation and the Back to Nac Reunion, as well as many other events and lots of back-to-school shopping, and we hope you will all stop by and see what Main ‘Sweet’ Treats and Beats is all about!” — Carlie Allen, City of Nacogdoches Main Street and Communications Assistant
Live entertainment will be featured along the sidewalks near participating stores for visitors to stop and enjoy while tasting various different treats, as well as in several shops, including the Bosslight bookstore and the Liberty Bell Bar.
