Lufkin Bands to Honor Veterans with Music, Marching & Fireworks

Date:

The Lufkin ISD band program is proud to continue its long-standing tradition of honoring local veterans and active members of the U.S. Armed Forces with its annual event, Honor America Night. This year’s event is scheduled for Saturday, November 9, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. at Abe Martin Stadium and will include performances by all grade levels of the Lufkin Middle School band, as well as music and marching from the Lufkin High School band.

Honor America Night serves as opportunity to recognize all branches of the armed forces, recognize veterans and their families, and to place a spotlight on the story of one specially honored veteran. The program will also conclude with a spectacular fireworks display.

“Honor America Night is our way of recognizing and thanking our veterans for their service to our country,” Band Director George Little said. “Our students love to perform at the event and we are happy to honor our veterans.”

The event begins at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $5 and are available beginning November 4 from any LMS or LHS band student, or they may be purchased at the LHS band office November 4-8 from 7:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Tickets will also be available on the day of the performance at the Lufkin High School cafeteria from 4:30-6:00 p.m., and at the gate of Abe Martin Stadium beginning at 6:00 p.m.

Please call the LHS band office at 936-630-4353 with any questions
