Every Lady Roadrunner who suited up for the game made her way into the scorebook, and Angelina College needed every bit of those contributions in exacting a little revenge in Wednesday’s 80-71 win over McLennan Community College at Shands Gymnasium.
Exactly one week after dropping an 88-82 decision to the Highlassies in Waco, the Lady ‘Runners put forth a solid team effort in AC’s second win of the season.
Mia Williams scored 17 points to lead the Lady Roadrunners, connecting on five three pointers for the night. Natasha Mack added 13 points, 15 rebounds and six blocked shots; and Angelica Darcus finished with 11 points in the win.
Jaylonn Walker led the Highlassies with 20 points. Velma Mitchell added 16.
AC never trailed in the game, leading by as many as 21 points in the fourth quarter.
The Lady Roadrunners (2-2) will travel to Tyler this weekend as participants in the Tyler Classic. AC faces Collin County at 1 p.m. on Friday and Ranger College at 11 a.m. on Saturday.
