La Corte is coming into the organization at the peak of the year where she will organize and oversee eleven events within her first 60 days.  “There is nothing like taking on a new job and having major fundraising and community events to carry out in the first few months,” La Corte said, “but we have great volunteers and wonderful community support.”

Her past experiences include working in the finance industry, a Silicon Valley start-up, event and service arena and being an Executive at Target. She is active in volunteering in the community with Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPs), the Pregnancy Help Center of Lufkin, Junior Achievement and the Junior League of Lufkin.

“Jennifer’s experiences along with her outgoing personality are a great fit for the future of the organization because of her passion for the environment, management experience and heart for service,” Newton said.

Jennifer has been married to her husband, Phillip La Corte, for 6 years and has two daughters, age 3 and 22 months. She is proud to call the Piney Woods home since moving from California and having her youngest daughter born in Lufkin. She will make every effort to help make Angelina County a clean, green and great place to live, work and play.
