Four members of the Angelina College Lady Roadrunner softball team earned post-season accolades, with freshman Emilee Cernosek earning First-Team honors on both the All-Region and All-Conference lists and teammates Shelby Mixon, Nikki Whitehead and Jessica Husband making the Second-Team All-Conference list.
Cernosek, a freshman from Katy, led the team in home runs with 13. The lefty-swinging second baseman batted at a .432 clip with a whopping .774 slugging percentage and a team-leading 48 RBI. Her 67 hits led the team.
Freshman pitcher Mixon of Woodville led the staff with a 17-8 record, a 3.87 ERA and 146.2 innings pitched. Mixon recorded 79 strikeouts, also first among AC pitchers.
Kingwood Park product Whitehead hit .423 with 33 RBI and a .469 on-base percentage. Whitehead was third on the team with 55 hits.
Husband, also from Kingwood Park, batted .372 from the leadoff spot. Husband boasted an on-base percentage of .434 and was second on the team with 59 hits.
The four freshmen helped the Lady Roadrunners to the conference tournament in 2018, the fifth straight post-season appearance for Angelina College.
