Flower Power: Fall Fashion Trends

Date:

Flowers aren’t just for spring; they are now blooming in the fall.

Lilies, daisies, lotuses, and many other types of flowers are covering everything fashion2 from purses, shoes, dresses, to accessories this season. Fall basics such as gray cardigans, brown knee boots, and pea coats are the go-to items but with a floral twist this season. The fashion industry has kept floral prints as a pattern trend, which is a continual from the Spring 2016 trends.

To nail the floral trend for the fall weather, find pieces in slightly weightier fabrics and deeper tones to keep the look more fall forward. To add small floral arrangement to an outfit, opt for a bootie or bag decked in floral patterns. But for those committing to flower power, look for a floral-printed bomber jacket or a long-sleeve sheath dress covered in tiny petals to make the perfect floral statement this season.

If floral patterns aren’t your favorite look, there are many other print trends that are in style this season, such as stripes. Stripes of all different styles are the new rave – horizontal or vertical, diagonal or broke, broad or classic pinstripes are making a comeback this season.

fashion1Plaid is also back this season after making a big statement last year. From over-sized t-shirts, to coats, to scarfs, this print is a new go-to trend for multiple looks this fashion season. Whether in vibrant or muted shades, plaid patterns are able to add magic to business attire or if a laid-back playful image is on the agenda. To add an additional fashion flare to your plaid pieces, make sure to add gray plaid to your wardrobe. The trendy pattern is on the rise with designers creating business suits, shoes, and scarfs out of the pattern. It’s easy to add a pop of color to the look, such as maroon or teal, to complete the perfect fall look.

Flirtatious polka dots is another pattern that will stand out as a fashion favorite this season. Whether they are tiny or large dots, spread all over sparsely or densely, the fall fashion shows have shown to be inspired by the haute couture of the ’80’s, and is to surely continue to inspire others to add a few pieces of polka doted items to their wardrobe over the next few months.

Animal prints are back. Leopard and cheetah prints, along with the black-white
zebra print, are the fashion have-tos of the season. Even reptile prints were a heavy favorite on the runway. Find a styled leopard pattern on a flaring full skirt and blazer combo for the perfect fall look. To add a fashion twist to your everyday attire, add faux fur for a high-fashion look.

Additional patterns to add to your fall wardroom include: contemporary pop art prints, geometric figures and shapes, psychedelic prints and optical illusions, hounds tooth patterns, stars, hearts, and butterflies.

Whatever your style is, there is a fashion forward pattern to complete a full look for the next business trip or night out with friends. Plus, finding your favorite pattern allows you to express yourself, to feel confident, and above all, to look fabulous this fall fashion season.
