Texas Forestry Museum to Host Sawmill Sample

The Texas Forestry Museum is hosting its annual Sawmill Sampler event on Friday, May 17, 2019 from 6 – 8 pm. Travel back in time to discover what life was like in early East Texas sawmill towns. There will be demonstrations on wood turning, bee keeping, canning, blacksmithing, and more.
Sample a variety of beans and cast your vote for the winner of the Sawmill Bean Cook-Off. Also enjoy food samples offered by local restaurants, while listening to the Hartz family, a local family of musicians. Young cloggers from Susan’s Studio of Dance will also be performing. Children’s activities include crafts, petting zoo, and free pony rides with the purchase of an event ticket.
Tickets are $10.00 for adults; $5.00 for ages 4 to 12, and ages 3 & under are free. Tickets may be purchased at the museum or online at www.treetexas.com. This event is sponsored by: Catfish King, Stringer’s Lufkin Bar-B-Que, Posados, Cracker Barrel, Cotton Patch, and the Texas Forestry Association.
