Angelina College Receives Donation from Georgia-Pacific

LUFKIN, TEXAS, July 16, 2018 – Angelina College recently received a $10,000 donation from the Georgia-Pacific Charitable Foundation. Georgia-Pacific employees Jim Cumbie, Human Resources director and Yana Ogletree, Public Affairs manager presented the donation to Angelina College President Michael Simon.

The funds will be used to enhance Angelina College’s workforce programs. Specific purchases include the following:

* Safety fencing for the new industrial multi-axis articulated robotic system in the Electromechanical Technology program

* Twelve student work benches for the expanded shop area in the Diesel Technology program

* Five document camera projectors for use in the Electromechanical Technology and HVAC program classrooms

* Vertical Conveyor System components for use in constructing a material handling system to be wired and controlled by students in the Electromechanical Technology program.

* Send one instructor to Manufacturing Skill Standards Council (MSSC) Certified Production (CPT) instructor training to offer the MSSC-CPT Certification training in Sabine County to high school juniors and seniors.
