Angelina College Hosting Hoops for Vets

Date:

Angelina College is hosting Hoops for Vets on Thursday, March 30 in the college activity center. Admission is a cash donation in any amount or a hygiene item donation to the VA clinic’s sock closet.

Veterans are admitted at no charge and will be honored during the event.

The fun kicks off at 6 p.m. when the student teams play. At 7 p.m. the Angelina College faculty and staff team will play against the veterans’ team.

Attendees can participate in a 3-point and free throw competition for a $2 donation for each contest. Concessions will be served.

The event is a project of A.C.S.P.E.A.K.S. (Angelina College Students Preparing and Executing Acts of Kindness and Service), a campus organization. “Our goal is to promote service to those in need. We want our students to be aware of the various non-profit organizations in our community and encourage them to get involved.”

For more information about this event, contact Sabrina Collins, A.C.S.P.E.A.K.S. club advisor and speech instructor at scollins@angelina.edu.
