AC summer youth baseball camp set for June 5-7

LUFKIN, TEXAS, May 15, 2017 –
Angelina College will host the Roadrunner Summer Youth Baseball Camp June 5-7, 9 a.m until noon each day. The camp will be held at the Roadrunner Baseball complex located at 2508 College
Drive. The cost for the camp is $100. The camp is open to youth ages 6-14.
The camp is coordinated by Adam Massiatte, AC Roadrunner assistant/hitting coach. He has coached for 11 years and has led teams to two state championships. His playing career includes two years at Blinn College and
two years at the University of Louisiana-Layfayette.
“The objective of the camp is to teach the players the fundamentals, drills and skills that bring out the best in each player,” said Massiatte.
The first day of the camp will focus on defensive skills such as general fielding and throwing, as well as specific instructions for each position.
The second day will focus on offense. Players will learn the fundamentals of hitting, bunting and base running.
A rag ball tournament is scheduled for the final day of camp.
Players should bring a glove, shoes (for cages/locker room), spikes, pants, bat, helmet and shorts.
