AC Business Division Inducts New Alpha Beta Gamma Members

Date:

Angelina College’s Business Division on Sunday inducted 22 new members into the Alpha Beta Gamma International Honor Society in a ceremony held on the AC campus.

Keith New, Business Division Faculty Adviser, greeted the new members with their induction certificates; and guest speaker Krystal Garcia Riley, attorney for Skelton, Slusher, Barnhill, Watkins, Wells LPLLC, encouraged the new inductees to maintain focus in two areas of their lives: Hard work and perseverance.

“You need these two things to achieve what you want in your lives,” Riley said. “Hard work takes no training and will help you overcome anything else you don’t have.

“And don’t ever give up. There’s always something trying to get in your way. Perseverance will get you past ever obstacle. At the point you quit, you make all the sacrifices you’ve already made meaningless.”

Newly inducted members include Sara Almendarez, Amanda Baker, Kimberly Burris, Cody Bynog, Eric Crane, Brandi Durham, Kelby Durham, Allan Fiallos, Robbin Gibson, Wendy Havard, Saundra Joiner, Eric Menchaca, Kristin Moore, Leslie Morales, Paola Morales Delgado, Ann Nix, Citlalli Perez, Jazmin Robles Hernandez, Umeko Rodriguez, Morgan Stott, Meri Wyatt and Deana Yankie.

According to the organization’s official web site, “Alpha Beta Gamma® is an International Business Honor Society established by business professors in 1970 to recognize and encourage scholarship among two-year business and professional college students. The society is a member of The Association of College Honor Societies and has initiated 65,500 members.”
